As a fellow Glaswegian, I've had the pleasure of seeing The Hoojamamas
perform live many times in recent years, and know them to be uncommonly talented, both as a band and as individuals, a fact which is as evident on this album as it is on stage.
They're all singers, and they're all songwriters, and through instinct and orchestration they give each other the time and space to shine alone, allowing for
heartbreakingly delicate moments, before regrouping en masse to build layers of rolling sound to breathtaking crescendos.
This is an album of gentle currents and roaring waves. It's passionate, playful, philosophical and genuinely uplifting.
And like all honest art, it's a vital addition to our shared cultural landscape."
